Here’s the video for my song ‘Shining Like The Stars’, this year’s Kidd’s Kids theme song. Kidd’s Kids is an organization that takes 50 terminally/chronically ill children and their families to Disney World each year.
Here it is! The new Kidd’s Kids song ‘Shining Like the Stars’. Get it on iTunes and all proceeds go to this incredible trip. Get it on iTunes HERE!
Kidd Kraddick started Kidd’s Kids as an organization to take terminally/chronically ill children and their families to Disney World each year. I went on the trip last year and it changed my life. These kids are all heroes, and everyone on the trip smiles the whole time because they are finally able to drop their worries and just enjoy a vacation with everything from park passes and VIP treatment to an entire medical staff at their disposal. I wrote this song from the kids’ perspective. If they were to sing a song while in Disney World, this is what I thought they would sing…and now, they will this year! Please buy the song on iTunes or donate to Kidd’s Kids online. I can guarantee that your money will fund many smiles :)
Lyrics:
SHINING LIKE THE STARS
VERSE 1
Take me to a place where all my dreams come true
Cuz everybody knows I’ve got a dream or two
When we hit the ground there ain’t a thing I won’t do
Tell me what you got, just bring it on!
I close my eyes at night and I’m a hero man
When they see my face, they’ll finally understand
We can see the world, just give me your hand
And nothing’s gonna stand in our way
CHORUS
Shining like the stars
Can you hear them say my name
Here we are
Watch us throw our cares away
And we shine so bright, we light up the darkest night
Here we are
We’re shining like the stars
VERSE 2
Mom she always told me, just how good it would feel
Standing in the sun and I know that it’s real
And all the faces that I meet, they think that I’m a big deal
I tell them I’m just here to have some fun
And it seems that I belong here, I just wish I could stay
But some turns are on this road we all have to take
And I know that I’m a hero and it’s by no mistake
So hold on tight, cuz tomorrow never waits
CHORUS
Shining like the stars
Can you hear them say my name
Here we are
Watch us throw our cares away
Here we go
We don’t even know what’s next
But we know
That’s what makes this life the best
And we shine so bright, we light up the darkest night
Here we are
We’re shining like the stars
BRIDGE
I close my eyes at night, I’m a hero man
And one day they’ll understand
CHORUS
Shining like the stars
Can you hear them say my name
Here we are
Watch us throw our cares away
And we shine so bright, we light up the darkest night
Here we are
We’re shining like the stars
Tim Halperin - All You Got Official Kidd’s Kids Music Video
All of the footage was taken from this year’s Kidd’s Kids Trip. I was fortunate enough to go on the trip, and it changed my life. The kids voices you hear singing on the track are kids from this year’s trip: Madison McMeekin, Chance Stiver and Christa Dima. Kidd’s Kids is a foundation started by Radio Host Kidd Kraddick. Every year, Kidd and his team take 50-60 chronically/terminally ill children and their families to Disney World for a week, with all expenses paid and a full medical staff. For most kids, this is their first family vacation because many of their circumstances prevent them from traveling.
Kidd asked me to write this year’s song, and I wrote ‘All You Got’. All iTunes proceeds from ‘All You Got’ go to Kidd’s Kids. If you would like to donate to Kidd’s Kids, you can do so at http://www.kiddskids.com/page/make-a-donation Help make memories that last a lifetime!
Kidd’s Kids Trip Day 2
Disney World really is the happiest place on Earth.
Today started out with breakfast and a live performance from Nickalodeon sensation Big Time Rush! Then I joined a group of Kidd’s Kids and headed to Hollywood Studios. We wasted no time and hit Tower of Terror first. Some of the kids loved it, and some hated the big drops. The ones that liked the adrenaline rush of Tower of Terror joined me and a few other parents and staffers on Rockin’ Roller Coaster, where I saw my homeboy Steven Tyler. That has to be my favorite ride at Disney World. I love roller coasters, and the launch at the beginning is INSANE.
After nearly puking up my breakfast from the first two rides, we slowed things down a bit and headed to rides such as Toy Story, Indiana Jones, Muppets 3D and Star Tours. It was at this point that I put Jonathan on my shoulders and carried him around the park. We had a great day hanging out. Jonathan has such a great attitude about everything. He never complained, and he would go on any ride (if he was tall enough he would’ve gone on Rockin’ Roller Coaster too). He became my righthand man, and rode on all the rides with me today.
I left Hollywood Studios and went over to Epcot early to walk around the park and take in the Disney environment. I love Epcot because it reminds me of my first trip to Disney World with my family, and my last trip here with my high school show choir, when we performed in Epcot. I made it an official Disney World trip by eating some fish and chips (nom nom).
We finished the day with the Illuminations firework show and dessert party. The kids were all exhausted!
We’re now at the point of the trip where all the kids feel comfortable with each other, so it’s only going to be more fun and exciting from here on out…
